El gran récord de Messi enfrentándose a Carlos Vela

One of the most anticipated matches of this Major League Soccer season is set to take place at the BMO Stadium on Sunday evening. The city of Los Angeles is gearing up for the showdown against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, who have remained unbeaten since the arrival of the Argentine star to the club, with Carlos Vela’s LAFC awaiting them.

You can watch the game live online with the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

The Mexican was the face of the league for several years, even breaking the record for the most goals in a season in 2019, and leading the Los Angeles side to their first-ever championship in just four years, defeating the Philadelphia Union in the grand final.

Today, however, there’s a new king on the throne, and his name is Messi. And it could be that a rivalry between two MLS stars could be born here, and it’s not their first encounter in their careers. Let’s take a look at how Messi has fared against the Mexican.

Vela struggles against Messi

Despite LAFC’s status as one of the top teams in the MLS, they face a formidable opponent in a Miami team that hasn’t lost since Messi’s arrival. Furthermore, the Argentine star boasts an impressive record against the Mexican footballer.

Messi has knocked up 12 wins, three draws, and just four losses in the 19 matches in which they have faced each other. Their first encounter took place on February 3, 2008, with Messi’s Barcelona narrowly defeating Vela’s Osasuna.
